About World Merit
World Merit is a global network of young-adult change-makers driving local action for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Our network is comprised of:
Members: World Merit members take actions to fulfill the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. World Merit welcomes members of all nationalities, religions, ethnic backgrounds, political beliefs, and sexual orientations, as long as they share the common purpose of acting to improve their communities. As a young-adult network, our membership age ranges from 18-30 and come from 190+ countries. There is no cost of membership.
Community: Our community includes global membership, our councils, our partners, and our supporters, all of whom make progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
Councils: Councils are independent, local and national member-led organizations that hold events, initiate projects, build membership, and represent World Merit in improving communities around the world. There are currently World Merit councils in over 30 countries.
World Merit Limited: World Merit Limited is World Merit’s founding organization. It maintains the integrity of WM’s purpose and builds the technologies used by members, councils, and project teams to carry out their respective activities.
Action University: World Merit’s Action University offers just-in-time learning through its’ flexible and diverse programming. Topics include project development and management, social media, leadership, and council development. GAIA, the Global Action Impact Accelerator, is the Action University’s premier program to accelerate over 20 top projects in our community each year.

Get Involved
World Merit counts on its supporters to supplement the many volunteer hours that our members spend to improve their communities.
We are grateful to the many individuals, foundations, and corporations who have supported our changemakers with funding, teaching, and time. Here is how you can get involved:
Donate: Since World Merit charges no membership fees, donors and sponsors supply the capital to employ a small staff and technical team, provide small grants to project teams.
Become a Legacy Donor: Join the committed long term donors and investors who work with World Merit over extended periods of time, providing on-going financial support and advice for program and organizational development
Teach, Advise, and Mentor: World Merit is a community of fast learners, and to that end, seeks and welcomes people to teach and advise. Additionally, connections to like-purposed people and organizations will advance the respective objections .
